One of the Tumbler Ridge Museum Foundation’s most popular
programs is returning for the third successive year. Good news
is that Jennifer Becker, who has made her mark on these unique
tours since 2004, is returning for her third summer as Tour
Guide.
Tours will go via hiking trails to the Flatbed and Wolverine
Dinosaur Footprint sites and last 1-2 hours. Tours will be
conducted from May 8 till late August. The two sites have very
different types of footprints, and a visit to both is recommended.
Costs are kept low and are the same as in 2005, on average
$10 per adult, with special kid, family and school group rates.
Kids under 6 are free.
Probably the most unique feature is the nocturnal lantern
tour which is conducted to the Wolverine site after dark. The
low angled lantern lighting brings out the best in the footprints,
while dinosaur calls play in the background, creating an extremely
eerie atmosphere.
Once the Dinosaur Discovery Gallery is opened, tours will
begin there. Until then, they will continue to start at the
Tumbler Ridge Visitor Info Centre. Own transportation is required
for the short drives to the trailheads.
Dino Footprint Tours have become one of the “must-do” activities
in the Peace Region, and have already entranced thousands of
visitors. To book a tour please call (250) 242 3123, or for
