The theropod dinosaur footprint that had been illegally excavated
from one of the
Tumbler Ridge Museum Foundation's field sites has been recovered.
TRMF would
like to thank the RCMP for their assistance with the investigation.
The
footprint-bearing rock slab has been returned intact to Tumbler
Ridge. A
previous press release on the vandalism and theft from the tracksite
by the
TRMF was a catalyst for the voluntary return of the print. A
replica of this well-known print will be placed at the field
site. The original will form an important part of the museum’s
collections.
RCMP Constable Chuck Lair returns the dinosaur
footprint-bearing slab to Dr Charles Helm, Vice President of
the Tumbler Ridge Museum Foundation.
